Following Shakespeare’. An outing to London. We will walk from Waterloo along the Thames river path, past the Globe theatre and the Wobbly Bridge, to visit Southwark Cathedral. Then we will walk along the north bank of the river in time for our 3 p.m. guided tour of Middle Temple Hall in the tranquil setting of the Inns of Court off Fleet Street.  Middle Temple Hall is an amazing survival and the best Elizabethan Great Hall in London with lots of interesting history and connections. Twelfth Night was performed here for the first time in 1602. Lunch along the way. For a detailed itinerary and more information contact Gill or Mary.

PRE-BOOKING required with Gill or Mary as we have to pay Middle Temple Hall in advance. There is a £ 5 per person charge for History Society members for the cost of the Middle Temple Hall  tour. £ 7.50 for non-members.

If you do not want to do the walk, but would just like to visit Middle Temple Hall, that is fine. You can meet us there are 2.45 p.m. Same charges apply. All welcome.
