There is a new book, Remarkable Village Cricket Grounds, which has a very good 4-page section on Coldharbour Cricket Club.
The club originates from the 1920's when matches were played on the common in the village centre. It was relocated to its current position in 1950 and is the highest ground in the south of England. The National Trust granted a 50 year lease to Coldharbour Sports and Social Club Ltd for the use of the land and pavilion, this coincided with the completion of the project to rebuild the pavilion in 2007.
On match days there is ample parking up at the ground but the walk from the centre of Coldharbour is not to be missed. Bring a picnic and come and enjoy these fabulous and unique surroundings.
The boundary fence on two sides of the ground has been replaced also extra maintenance of the pitch over the winter to combat moles, bird damage and moss have all resulted in an even better facility for cricket. All work has been funded out of the club's reserves and if you would like to contribute then please get in touch.
